The Award Winning Show My Voices Have Tourettes RETURNS for another year at The Secret Cellar! EVERY Tuesday at 21:00 (9:00 pm) “My Voices Have Tourettes” is a unique Stand Up Comedy show that features comedians with disorders and syndromes to help raise awareness for mental health and neurological disorders in a fun way! The show was created for Reykjavík Fringe 2018 by “HED Syndrome”, a group consisting of one comedian with Schizophrenia (Hannah Proppé Bailey) and two comedians with Tourette Syndrome (Elva Dögg and Dan Zerin). With the show’s instant success and a news article after the first night, the popular demand of Reykjavík citizens and traveling tourists led to “Voices” becoming a weekly show at its home, The Secret Cellar. The show has now been featured in almost every media outlet here in Iceland and 2019 brought an array of success. The Culture Houses of Kópavogur host an open and diverse culture program every Wednesday. Kex Hostel and Boli introduce: KEX KAST KEX KAST takes place on Thursday evening February 13 in the hostel’s Gym & Tonic hall. Competitions will be made in 501, horseshoe, knockout but the exact layout will depend on the number. Registration will be on site and runs until 19:00. The tournament starts at 7:30 pm. Pedro Vieira and Daniel Zivko Duo The Piracema Duo, formed by Brazilian Musicians Pedro Vieira (Guitar and Vocals) e Daniel Zivko (Electric Guitar and Vocals) will be touring through Europe between January and February 2020 January performing the show “Sítio Nascente”, where they go through many different styles of Brazilian music, showing a little bit of the great richness and cultural diversity of Brazil. Using the interaction between the voices, the Electric Guitar and the Nylon Guitar, the Duo tries to grasp the vast melodic and rhythmic repertoire, so rich in Brazilian music, and thereby representing a glimpse bit of this music’s history, revisiting composers such as Dorival Caymmi, Tom Jobim, Chico Buarque, amongst so many others. Pedro Vieira is a singer and guitarist. Graduated in electric guitar and singing at the Campinas State University, also studied singing and electric guitar MPB/Jazz at the Tatuí Conservatory, one of the most respected conservatories in Latin America. Working with teenagers from Reykjavik, Iceland, the Teenage Choir of Love and Sex sing songs they have written themselves based on their own romantic and sexual experiences. As the choir travels it invites different young people locally to write songs with them and join the choir. They sing for themselves and each other. They sing for love, curiosity and heartbreak. They sing for every virgin, every slut and every thirsty bitch – so they never need to feel alone again. The Túttífrútturnar are heading north with a heartfelt brrrrlesk show to melt hearts and hearts. Burlesque is a performance art form that focuses on a positive body image that is reflected in laughter, dance and general joy. Therefore, there is often nudity and adult humor and the show is aimed at 20 years and older. This is the Valentine’s Day weekend itself, so love and romance are truly paramount! The only true Lady Hringaná will be the guest of honor of the group in the field of the north to perfection.
