Akureyri Art Museum is one of the youngest art museums in Iceland. The museum strives to promote art and visual culture for the local community, as well as within the wider global context, by presenting diverse exhibitions and by emphasizing museum education. The museum’s two venues are located side by side, right in the heart of Akureyri, in Listagil (Art’s Street). The two buildings on the north side of the street are: Akureyri Art Museum and Ketilhús.
