Laugardalshöll is an indoor sporting arena located in Reykjavík, Iceland. The capacity of the arena is 5,500 people. Aside from sports and music events, it serves as a general purpose hall for all manner of events.

Located on the famous Lækjargata in the heart of Reykjavik City, Hard Rock Cafe Reykjavik contains three floors, each with its own distinctive vibe. The Cellar features the main venue, which includes a large bar and dining seats for up to 90 people. Additionally, we boast a large stage for concerts and 36 bar seats. Saga Bæjarbíós Bæjarbíó á sér orðið langa sögu og er ein merkasta heimild Íslenskrar kvimyndasögu. Upphafið má rekja altt aftur til seinnistríðsáranna, nánar tiltekið septemberloka ársins 1941. Þá lá fyrir umsókn tveggja einstaklinga um leyfi til kvikmyndasýninga. Á bæjarstjórarfundi þar sem erindið var tekið fyrir var Emil Jónssyni, Friðjóni Skarphéðinssyni og Lofti Bjarnasyni falið að athuga hvort Hafnarfjarðarbær sjálfur gæti komið upp bíói fyrir kajupstaðinn. Um hálfu ári síðar, eða í mai 1942 samþykkti bæjarstjórnin að reisa hús, tekinað af Sigmundi Halldórssyni húsasmíðameirara, sem myndi halda bæði utan um rekstur kvikmyndahúss auk skrifstofuaðstöðu fyrir starfsemi bæjarins. Rúmum 2 árum seinna, á lýðsveldisárinu 1944 var búið að reisa Bæjarbíó og sýningar hófust í byrjun árs 1945. Ekki ber heimildum saman um hvaða dag en heimildir finnast um a.m.k 3 dagsetningar 6.jan, 9. jan og 10. jan. Bíóið tók í upphafi 325 manns í sæti. Bærinn rak húsið af myndarbrag og ráðstafaði hagnaði af sýningum til smiði á Sólvangi, elliheimili bæjarins sem á þessum tíma var að rísa. The historical community house Stapi is a part of Hljómahöll which is still in full use. The Icelandic Museum of Rock ‘n’ Roll is a big part of the house (Hljómahöll) and is a great attraction for tourists all over the world who want to learn about the history of pop and rock in Iceland. The museum offers various ways to learn about this remarkable history; documentary films, music, souvenirs, an app and guests can actively involve them selves by trying out f.ex. drums, bass and guitars. Gaflaraleikhúsið er lítið leikhús fyrir 220 áhorfendur, með áhorfendapöllum, stólum og ljósa- og hljóðbúnaði. Hópurinn hefur á síðustu árum framleitt 8 ný íslensk verk bæði í samstarfi við aðra og á eigin spýtur. Verkin eru Ævintýri Múnkhásens, Blakkát, Hjartaspaða,Unglinginn, Heila Hjarta Typpi, Konubörn, Bakaraofninn, Góði Dátinn Svejk og vinur hans og Stefán rís. Eitt erlent verk hefur fengið að fljóta með en það var verðlaunaverkið Hvítt frá Skotlandi sem er fyrir yngstu börnin. Auk þessa hafa danshópar, erlendir leikhópar og skólaleikhús fengið inn í húsinu með fjölda sýninga. Salurinn er fyrsti sérhannaði tónleikasalur landsins. Hann var tekinn í notkun 2. janúar 1999. Tónlistarhús Kópavogs er hluti af menningarmiðstöð bæjarins sem stendur á Borgarholtinu við hlið Gerðarsafns og í nágrenni Kópavogskirkju, en hún er eitt helsta tákn bæjarfélagsins. Frá því að Salurinn var tekinn í notkun hafa verið haldnir að meðaltali tvennir tónleikar í viku, fjöldi ráðstefna af ýmsu tagi, námskeið, verðlaunaafhendingar, alþjóðlegt skákmót, píanókeppni, afmælisveilsur, fermingar, brúðkaukp og svo mætti áfram telja. Salurinn rúmar 300 manns í sæti, 200 í sal og 100 á svölum. Lögun Salarins, hallandi gólf og þægileg sæti, skapa nálægð og góð tengsl á milli flytjenda og áheyrenda, en auk þess hefur Salurinn verið rómaður fyrir fallegt útlit og góðan aðbúnað. Hannesarholt – Cultural house, located in the historic home of the late Hannes Hafstein, Iceland’s first Minister of State and a beloved poet. Hannesarholt is a non-profit organisation founded by individuals hoping to create a place of nurturing and a reclaiming of cultural roots, in a fast changing society. A café is located on the first floor and facilities are rented out for meetings, courses, lectures, chamber music, concerts and other enriching gatherings on all four floors. The old harbour warehouse, Hafnarhús, offers a progressive exhibition program with local and international contemporary artists. The works of key figures, as well as established and emerging current artists are presented in six galleries. Hafnarhús is also home to the works of Erró (b. 1932), a significant player in the international pop art scene. Hafnarhús is located in the oldest part of Reykjavik, where the town’s boats and first docks lay. The building was erected in the 1930s and at the time it was one of the largest buildings in the country. It was renovated by Studio Grandi architects in 1998-2000 to house Reykjavík Art Museum.

The historic and beautiful house in the heart of Reykjavik, the Old Cinema, is currently undergoing a renewal of life. Extensive construction work is now underway to refine all facilities that will serve modern needs while retaining original design and dignity. Thus, the usefulness of the Old Cinema will greatly increase as the possibilities for use become almost endless. The house can be a conference hall, concert venue, theater, banquet hall, movie theater or almost anything that people think. For the first time there will also be a working café in the Old Cinema, but on the third floor of the house is the so-called Petersen Suite, where Peter Petersen lived, who was a cinema manager and had the house built under his business. In the Petersen suite there will be a working café and bar, but there are also spaces suitable for smaller meetings and banquets.

Soffia’s Toy Museum consists of Óskar Elínar Jóhannesdóttur toy collection and the toy collection formerly found at Iðnó, in addition to toys donated by patriots. The museum is open to everyone who enjoys old toys but we ask guests not to touch the pieces found in the museum. Donations to further the museum are greatly appreciated.

In two exhibitons The Settlement Centre tells the Saga of The Settlement of Iceland and Iceland´s most famous viking and first poet Egill Skallagrimsson. It gives the traveler a good foundation for further knowledge when traveling in Iceland. The museum has Iceland´s largest collection of farm machinery which goes back to 1880.

The house was transported 140 kilometers from Akranes town to its current location, where it has a new role as a restaurant. Bjargarsteinn House of food is a local family owned restaurant. Akureyri Art Museum is one of the youngest art museums in Iceland. The museum strives to promote art and visual culture for the local community, as well as within the wider global context, by presenting diverse exhibitions and by emphasizing museum education. The museum’s two venues are located side by side, right in the heart of Akureyri, in Listagil (Art’s Street). The two buildings on the north side of the street are: Akureyri Art Museum and Ketilhús.
Kaupvangsstræti 8, Akureyri
The museum serves the purpose of preserving and displaying items related to aviation in Iceland, its history and development in different categories, from the first fumbling attempts at commercial aviation in 1919 to the different airlines, some of which still exist, to medical transports and the Icelandic coast guard. It includes 28 full-sized aircraft including airplanes and helicopters, as well as a collection of photographs related to aviation history and other historically significant items.

The Industry Museum is a small, homely, relaxing and interesting place where you can see machines, devices and products from the blooming industry in Akureyri, from the early 20th century until today. We also have displays from various private collections and also several examples of students final exam pieces from a variety of subjects. And an ever changing selection of items such as herring barrels, shoes, toys and variety of product packaging. In the 60’s and 70’s, this small town was self-sufficient in almost everything from food, cloth, construction, fisheries etc. The Museum of Industry is in constant development because the history of industry in Akureyri is ongoing.
Krókeyri Akureyri
The Icelandic Motorcycle Museum documents the 100-year history of the motorcycle in Iceland in an 800m2 building specially built for the purpose. Its origin can be traced to the tragic death of Heiðar Þ. Jónsson in 2007, who left behind him his collection including dozens of bikes and a great number of assorted motorbike accessories. The museum details the history of the motorcycle through important bikes and stories of colourful characters and is a must-visit location for all motorbike enthusiasts.
Krókeyri Akureyri
The atmospheric and picturesque heritage site of Laufás is full of history with its large farmhouse and beautiful 19th Church. It has been the home of priests since at least 1047 until 1935 with the current priest still living on the premises. The house a maze with long corridors and surprisingly many interconnected rooms. The heritage site Laufás is mentioned in historical records soon after the settlement of Iceland (874-930) being a renowned church site and chieftain’s residence. The current buildings are from the middle of the 19th century and furnished with household items and clothes from the period. One of Laufás characteristics is the Bridal room where brides prepared themselves for the big event. The existing church was built in 1865, among its special items is a pulpit from 1698. Laufás Visitor Centre has a cosy atmosphere and additional information about nature, wildlife and history of the vicinity. Local handcraft and souvenir shop and refreshments.
Laufás Museum
For nearly 40 years the mountain Hlíðarfjall has been one of the prime skiing areas of Iceland. The hallmarks of Hlíðarfjall are high quality snow, extensive cross country trails and exciting ski slopes with breathtaking views of Eyjafjörður. Akureyris’ ski resort is situated just 5 km outside of the town, it is a very unique area. The elevation of the site goes from 500 m to 1000 m above sea level and so there is plenty of opportunities for good skiing during the winter months. Since 2006 Hliðarfjall has had a number of snow making machines installed which extendes and improves snow conditions on the slopes. All of the main runs are floodlit, allowing evening skiing.

Kornhlaðan first opened as a concert venue at Iceland Airwaves in 2019 and received the most wonderful reception from both guests and performers. The theater was officially opened on October 4, 1997 and since then a number of plays have been staged as well as other events. Among other things, there have been conferences, concerts, meetings and much more. The large hall can seat 130 people, and seats and benches can be removed upon request (*).

Duus Museum is the Art and Cultural Center of Reykjanesbær. It houses the exhibition halls for the local museums, concert halls and halls for mixed cultural activities. Café Duus offers refreshments. Duus Museum is located near the marina in Gróf overlooking the Keflavík bay. On the cliffs surrounding the Duus marina is an interesting foot path where one might catch a glimpse of whales swimming near by. The marina also marks the beginning of a beautiful 10 km long walk trail along the coastline of Reykjanesbær from Keflavík to Innri Njarðvík.

Kórinn is an indoor multipurpose auditorium located in Kopavogur and built in 2007. It includes an indoor football stadium which meets all the international standards set by the International Football Association FIFA. The auditorium covers an area of 14,457 m2 and has a seating capacity of 2000 spectators plus an additional 50 honor places. The auditorium is designed to accommodate concert acoustics and has a total standing capacity of up to 19,000 visitors.

Housed in an old biscuit factory in downtown Reykjavik furnished with salvaged materials and found objects from various places, KEX is an organic concept blending vintage industrial feel with eclectic contemporary touch. At KEX you will find a variety of dorms and rooms a café and bar, lounge area, free Wi-Fi, and more. Sæmundur í Sparifötunum is the gastro pub at the heart of KEX Hostel. It’s not quite a fancy bistro but swankier than your ordinary pub grub, Sæmundur is that sweet spot in the middle, like the cream filling in the sandwich biscuit it takes it’s name from and was baked in the old biscuit factory. The restaurant is open daily during the summer but only irregularly during the winter time. The restaurant specializes in Icelandic seafood dishes. In the evenings offers a buffet with a variety of fish all catch of the day directly from the harbour across the street. A simple a la carte menu is also available. You can relax and enjoy drinks in the lounge area. The guesthouse features an outdoor terrace where you can enjoy food and drink on the long Icelandic summer nights.

The Natural History Museum in Bolungarvik was formally opened in may 1998, the museum was also the first of its kind in the Westfjords. The display room is over 300 m2. There is a big conference room at the museum that makes it easier to greet groups. The museum and the Natural History Institute of the Westfjords are in the same building and are connected, but the Natural Institute is in charge of the daily business of the museum. The museum is dedicated to Steinn Emilsson, a geologist that was for a long time the principal of the elementary school in Bolungarvik. His rock collection is the biggest part of the rock display of the museum. There are a lot of mammals and birds at the museum. When entering the museum you get greeted by a hooded seal and not far from him is the polar bear surrounded by seal, fox and mink. Combined ticked (Natural History Museum & Ósvör Maritime Museum) 1.200 ISK for adults. 1.000 ISK for older than 67. Free admission for 16 years and younger.
Tjöruhúsið is a seafood restaurant in Ísafjörður, serving only catch of the day. Tjöruhúsið is a family owned and operated restaurant in Ísafjörður. We only serve catch of the day, hence we have no menu on display. Generally you can expect to feast on wolffish, cod, halibut, bacalao, ocean perch and spotted catfish at Tjöruhúsið – we also serve a langoustine and tomato based fish soup and (if you’re in luck) traditional Icelandic fish stew. Children 14 and under eat for free at Tjöruhúsið. Persons over 14 will pay 6.000 ISK to partake in soup and buffet (which is served in the evening), during lunch hours, we usually offer an a la carte menu based on what was brought in that day, with prices ranging from 2.000 ISK – 4.000 ISK. For those interested in dining at Tjöruhúsið, we recommend reserving seats in good time (especially during high season) Note: to guarantee a table, we recommend being in touch with at least three days’ notice (more for larger groups) via telephone (as we are often busy in the summer and don’t have time to answer our email and FB msg)
KK restaurant is located on Aðalgata street in Sauðárkrókur and the restaurant has been operating in the house since 2009. The restaurant has a very varied selection of dishes on the menu, ranging from pizzas to steaks and offers a free return within Sauðárkrókur if an order is 2000 ISK or more. For lunch on weekdays, a reasonable breakfast buffet is served and includes a buffet of hot meals, fish and meat, side dishes, pizzas, soup, salad and bread.
